I created a new page on this blog of my video read-alouds for kids (I’m calling it STORYTIME), and for teachers to use in their classrooms.
So far I’ve only recorded one book, but I am excited to add and share more very, very soon! I have a ton of books in my collection in my art room and I recently purchased 2 more children’s books!
If there are any short picture books that you would like for me to add to my videos, please let me know (you can email me under my contact page) Thank you! I hope you like it!

WOW .. and now we have read aloud story time to go with your inspirational ideas !
Perhaps you could make up a catalogue of your books. I can spy some of my favourites on your bookshelf in your art room.
I was incredibly lucky to study foundation phase teaching in Cape Town, South Africa, with Prof. Karin Murris who introduced us to philosophy for children with picture books, Picture books and read aloud’s is a must when working with young children.
Eagerly awaiting your next read aloud and blog posts.
THANK YOU SO MUCH Cara!! That’s the nicest comment I have ever received on my blog! It put a huge smile on my face and made my day! Thank you! I was actually thinking of possibly doing that with my art book collection, so that could be in the forecast! It was really fun recording my read-aloud today. Took a bit longer than I thought with taking pics of each page, and editing everything in iMovie, but it felt great to get back into adding other elements to my blog. I actually ordered the book through Amazon even though I already have a copy at my school that I purchased years ago. I wanted to make the video though so I didn’t have to wait til I got back from break haha! Well, at least now I’ll have a back up copy to put at my other school’s art room. Books are never a bad thing to purchase anyways right?! Take care and thank you so much again for taking the time to send me a nice message!
